Driven by a national broadcaster, this online campaign drew together submissions from First Nations writers across the country. After a viral marketing driven call-to-action, our studio crowdsourced three works from a niche online community that went into production as graphic novels. Astral Media Harold Greenberg Fund

Increasingly, comic books have become de facto starter vehicles for genre entertainment in films, television series and videogames. Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund

Department of Foreign Affairs

As part of a series of collaborations leading up to the Imperial visit, Z2H created a trans-Pacific partnership that took the digital form of a social network celebrating the cross-cultural connections between the two countries. Using manga as the creative link, our creative team developed eight non-fiction stories by undiscovered writers to make up a distinctive digital anthology.

Electronic Arts — Bioware

The digital marketing campaign leading up to the launch of the long-awaited game Star Wars: The Old Republic centered around a serialized comic developed by Lucasfilm and Dark Horse. Needing a memorable user experience, Bioware contracted Z2H to digitally publish the series in English, French and German via a licensed version of our proprietary comic viewer.

Halifax Films

This Hour Has 22 Minutes is one of the longest running and most successful social satires running on CBC. What Z2H brought to the party was a translation of their wit and wisdom to the digital space. The documentary film Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist, Rebel shows this iconic figure in a brand new — and completely unexpected — light. National Screen Institute

This highly innovative initiative uses crowdsourcing techniques to let film afficiandos program television content for the GLBT community. Province of New Brunswick

In partnership with the province of New Brunswick, Z2H created Comix 101, an award-winning educational program that uses a combination of social networking and online storytelling to get kids excited about more than just reading comics… it gets them excited about writing their own! After a four month period of in-class instruction and distance learning mentorship, four books were published as a short series of digital comics by kids, for kids.

Over the course of twelve months, our creative team worked with the senior stakeholders at this leading animation studio to develop an award-winning viral marketing campaign. Aimed at reviving a storied animation franchise, this campaign included fan feedback on the forthcoming feature film, the creation of an online webcomic, and the launch of a ReBoot microsite on its way to enrolling more than 20,000 online fans.

Telefilm Canada

Executed in partnership with Telefilm Canada, the objective of this campaign was to issue a national call-to-action aimed at undiscovered screenwriters. After an extended period of creation and crowdsourcing, 15 new entertainment properties were identified and developed as a digital comics catalogue. Several of these works are now being refined for their commercial potential.
